Types and usage of Wave spring Washer

Wave spring washer that is also known as wave washer is one of the best load wearing washers in the market today. They are excellent instruments for greater load bearing capability because of their sharper curve format and are primarily used in thrust loading applications in the areas where radial space is limited and small deflections are common. The waves can range from 3 to more than 6 as per the specification required by customers. By increasing the waves, the thickness is reduced for any given load.

In market, these washers are made available by various wave spring washersuppliers in copper crescent, spring steel crescent and stainless crescent with different plating like plating of nickel, black oxide, tin, zinc, cadmium or with other metals as well.
A very typical example of it is axial loading of ball bearings. These washers are generally made from stainless steel and have a very fine finish having either mechanical plating or is electroplated through which possibility of hydrogen embrrittlement is reduced. Other main applications of wave spring are in automotive, off-Highway, aerospace, medical as well as oil and gas industry.
Main products in the industries which wave spring washer suppliers have made available to their customers are:

·         Flow Valve Application: Crest to crest wave spring here controls if any linear displacement occurs in piston as fluid pressure increases.
·         Pressure Relief Valve: With the increase in air pressure, spring load also increases; forcing the plate away from sealing surface and when pressure decreases, the seal also gets closed.
·         Water Valve: Here, spring is used to prevent the valve handle from rotating by engaging the thread on main shaft and maintaining a constant load.
·         Multi Tooth Cutter: Here specialized springs are made which apply pressure to the two cutter halves allowing them to oscillate.
